The 6 Core Pillars of Healing for Women with IBS, Endometriosis & Chronic Pelvic Pain

Holistic Nutritionist Orisha Boychuk at One Tree Nutritionist specializing in IBS, Endo & chronic pelvic pain.

Hello friend!

I’m Orisha, the founder of One Tree Nutrition.

I am so excited that you’re here!  I want to take a moment to share about the 6 core pillars of my business.  These are the pillars upon which all of my coaching, programs and content is based.  I believe that these are foundational for healing and maintaining wellness if you’ve got Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Endometriosis (endo) and/or chronic pelvic pain of any sort.

True healing comes from addressing the whole body. Every system in our body is interconnected — gut health affects hormones, stress impacts digestion, and emotions influence pain. That’s why my approach focuses on the body as a complete, integrated system rather than isolated symptoms.

When all six pillars are supported, the magic begins — flare-ups calm, stress melts away, your body feels safe again, and real healing can unfold.  Constantly being in pain and discomfort robs you of joy, happiness and connection.  No woman EVER deserves to live in that state.  You have been created to enjoy life and thrive in your body.

Healing is possible for you!

You can find freedom from your symptoms and experience breakthroughs in your health by sustainable and practical nutrition and lifestyle support.

Your digestive health is at the core of managing IBS, endometriosis, and chronic pelvic pain

I know firsthand how extremely difficult it is to navigate constant gut problems.  Since childhood, I’ve battled many digestive symptoms including constipation, diarrhea, cramps, bloating, etc. and seen multiple doctors about it.  Receiving an IBS diagnosis in my early 20’s didn’t help because my doctor gave me no guidance on what to do next (other than to eat low fodmap).

I have since learned so much about the gut, how to have optimal bowel movements and what to do to enjoy food without your stomach revolting.  Diet and lifestyle is so impactful.  I love helping my clients improve their gut health because then they experience way more energy and better sleep.  They end up feeling light, have less bloat, a better mood and honestly, like they’re on top of the world.  It’s so difficult to enjoy life when your gut is screaming at you.

Anti-inflammatory nutrition to heal the gut, reduce flares and have optimal bowel movements.

Some areas we focus on are:

  • Healthy bowel movements

  • Balanced gut microbiome

  • Reduced bloating, constipation, and diarrhea

  • Improved nutrient absorption

By calming inflammation in the gut and addressing digestive dysfunction, women often experience fewer flare-ups and their hormones start to balance out.

Holistic nutrition support for hormone balance, chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis and IBS.

Hormonal imbalances play a major role in endometriosis symptoms, pelvic pain, bloating, and fatigue.  As women, we tend to get so busy in life–whether that be raising kids, working 30+ hours per week, making sure those we care about have what they need, etc.  So many women are burned out and either don’t realize it, or know they’re burned out, but don’t know what to do about it.  Society has glorified the woman that “does it all.”  Unfortunately, our hormones are paying the price and our bodies start to give us signals that we are way out of balance.

Supporting hormone balance can help reduce:

  • Painful flare-ups during menstrual cycles

  • PMS symptoms

  • Mood swings

  • Energy crashes

  • Endometriosis progression and pain

Through nutrition and lifestyle adjustments, this pillar promotes hormone harmony.  Think of your symptoms as the warning lights on your car's dashboard.  When they start flashing at you, then you know it’s time to get it looked at.  What has your body been telling you lately?

When you get in sync with your body's internal, natural rhythm, life suddenly becomes soooo much easier.

It’s very overwhelming with how many food choices there are and diets to try.  Society has again told women what they must “look like” which has affected what foods we put into our bodies.  Yo-yo dieting is a frequent thing I see happening with women around the globe.  Unfortunately, I too fell prey to some of this in my early 20’s.  Some diets I tried were keto, carnivore, vegetarian, dairy-free, paleo and more.  Nothing ever seemed to work for me long term, and I would end up binging on the foods I wasn’t supposed to be eating (according to that diet). This impacted my mental health big time (especially as a young university student).

Food is meant to nourish, fuel your body and be enjoyed.  Having a healthy relationship with food is so important because without it, you will be a slave to what you put in your mouth.

While I don’t believe that there is “one diet that fits all,” I do firmly believe and advocate the importance of consuming whole, natural foods that have not been processed/minimally processed (foods as close to their natural state as possible — emphasizing vegetables, fruits, quality proteins and healthy fats.  These types of food help lower inflammation, improve digestion and promote hormone balance.  When you have IBS, endometriosis and/or chronic pelvic pain, it is vital to consume foods that help keep that inflammatory fire out.

Eating for healing doesn’t mean restriction — it means focusing on nutrient-dense, whole foods that support your gut, hormones, and overall well-being.

This includes:

  • Anti-inflammatory meals

  • Gut-soothing recipes

  • Balanced protein, fats, and carbs

  • Foods that reduce IBS and endometriosis flare triggers

Nourishing your body properly is essential for reducing symptoms and supporting long-term health.

Food truly is medicine!

Anti-inflammatory nutrition and lifestyle changes to reduce stress and heal the nervous system.

Chronic stress and a dysregulated nervous system can worsen IBS, trigger endometriosis flare-ups, and intensify pelvic pain.  Have you ever noticed how your pain feels much worse if you’re stressed or worked up about something?  Plus, it is so extremely difficult to make any sort of healing headway if your body doesn’t feel “safe” to heal.  This is like trying to drive with your emergency brake on.

By addressing stress, sleep, and nervous system recovery, this pillar helps your body:

  • Shift out of “fight or flight” mode

  • Improve digestion and hormone regulation

  • Reduce flare intensity

  • Support emotional well-being

This is often an area that is overlooked when it comes to healing the body.  Personally, once I finally admitted to myself and recognized that my body was in a state of stress, I was able to make intentional choices to provide my body with the safety it was craving.  Wow, this sure made a difference in not only my mental and emotional health, but my physical health as well.  This is something I will work through with you in 1:1 coaching.

Living with chronic illness takes a mental and emotional toll In many ways, this is worse than the actual pain itself.  It’s so isolating to be navigating chronic pain.  Not all people understand and sometimes they may say things or insinuate things that hurt your heart.  These wounds dig deep.  Many women are also gaslighted about their symptoms and told that it is “all in their head” or that “it’s just stress.”

Diagnostic laparascopy and excisiom surgery for holistic nutritionist Orisha. IBS, endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain support.

I was told these things for many years until I had a diagnostic laparoscopy and excision surgery in 2025 which found severe adhesive disease all throughout my pelvis.  I am so glad I kept advocating myself.  It shouldn’t have taken as long as it did for me to get help.  This has taken a massive emotional toll and led to a lot of exhaustion.  My heart goes out to all the women around the world going through similar circumstances.  This is why I address mindset and emotional resilience in my coaching and in all that I do in my business.

Developing mindset skills and emotional resilience helps you navigate:

  • Food anxiety

  • Fear of flare-ups

  • Guilt or frustration around your body

  • Daily stress and overwhelm

  • Comments and insinuations from others

  • Gaslighting from others

  • Feeling misunderstood and isolated

This pillar empowers women to feel confident, calm, and capable, even during flare days.  It also helps women keep advocating for themselves when no one else seems to believe them.

True healing isn’t temporary — it’s about creating a lifestyle that supports your gut, hormones, and overall health long-term.  I am not about the bandaid fix.  True change is lasting change.  The goal is to feel as good as you can for as long as you can.  You want to ensure that you have a solid foundation to support your health going forward.  This often boils down to daily habits.  The small things that you do everyday impact your future.  It’s like rolling a snowball down a hill.  It starts off small but then gets larger and larger as it goes down the hill.

You can reduce IBS, chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis symptoms, prevent future flare-ups, and finally feel in control of your body and health.
