Could Inflammation Be Why You Still Hurt After Endometriosis Surgery?

Inflammation support for endometriosis management

You had your endometriosis excised.

But you still ache, feel puffy or stiff, and your body just doesn't feel calm.

If that's you, inflammation may be part of the story.

Endometriosis Is an Inflammatory Condition

Endo isn't only about lesions in the pelvis. It's considered a whole-body, systemic disease with a strong inflammatory component.

Surgery removes the endometriosis. But it doesn't automatically calm the inflammation happening in the rest of your body.

Where Ongoing Inflammation Can Come From

After surgery, your body may be dealing with:

  • Inflammation from endometriosis itself

  • Inflammation from the surgery and healing process

  • Blood sugar ups and downs throughout the day

  • Ongoing stress on your body and nervous system

  • Not getting enough of the nutrients your body needs

That last one is important.

You might hear "it's just stress." But even without enough nutrients, your body can be under stress.

Both matter.

Why Blood Sugar Balance Matters

When your blood sugar swings up and down, your body can experience it as stress.

Over time, that can keep your body in a more inflamed state.

You may notice:

  • Energy crashes in the afternoon

  • Strong sugar or carb cravings

  • Feeling shaky, irritable or foggy between meals

  • Fatigue that doesn't improve with rest

Supporting steady blood sugar is one of the foundations of how I work with clients.

What Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition Can Look Like

This is not about a strict, perfect diet.

There is no one "endo diet" that works for everyone. It depends on the individual. But these are common starting points:

  • Build balanced meals. Include protein, fibre and healthy fats instead of eating carbs alone.

  • Don't go too long without eating. Regular meals can help keep your energy steadier.

  • Add colour. Vegetables and fruits provide nutrients that support your body.

  • Include foods that nourish you. Think of adding in, not only taking away.

  • Notice how you feel. Your body gives you information.

Food Is One Piece of the Puzzle

Nutrition alone won't solve everything. Inflammation is also influenced by:

→ Stress

→ Sleep

→ Movement

→ Gut health

→ Your nervous system

That's why full-body support is so important after surgery. When we support the whole body, it has a better chance of returning to balance.
